What’s so scary about a messy first draft? Does your perfectionism get you stuck on page one? Or does anxiety about bad writing stop you before you start? In this one-hour webinar, I’ll do my best to convince you to embrace the dirty draft – a fun, fast way to turn blank pages into something real.

Dirty drafts can be useful at any stage of a project, right from the start or several drafts in.  They help push past blocks and create momentum. They also provide a perfect laboratory for experimentation, offering low-stakes opportunities to build better, more satisfying writing habits. Participants will leave with a toolkit of specific strategies to get your hands dirty.

This webinar is based on years of coaching work with writers as well as my own writing practice, which has included academic articles, a nonfiction book, poetry, experimental prose, screenplays, and a novel. I welcome writers of any levels and any genre, from short stories to artist statements to love letters.
